There was the time circa 15 years ago when talking about immigration to Canada or US could give you a reputation of a mentally unstable person. What immigration?! We couldn’t even get a visitor’s visa!
And today I am a proud Canadian citizen holding Canadian passport in my hand (see the pictures). Who would’ve thought?!

My middle finger, in fact.” Mokeeva became infamous for her finger fumble and was the source of much good-natured teasing from her new classmates.”

Я не ожидала. что после очередного исхода наших людей из “СеверТЭКа” (многие уехали ведь из Усинска) соберется так много народу. Было 64 человека. Все было тепло, душевно, замечательно.

Hello former KAO colleagues and friends,
I hope you are well with the KAO folks. I continue to be in Russia, now working in the Far East in a city called Blagoveschensk. We are located on the Chinese border and I can see China from my apartment, across the Amur river. Here I am working as Finance Director with Berezitovy Rudnik, a gold mining company owned by High River Gold out of Toronto. We are currently in the process of developing an open mine site and hope to start production in July 2005.
Ruby and I would like to take this time to wish each of you a very Happy New Year. May it be a good year in which you reach more of your goals.
As the new year dawns, we take a moment to look back on 2005 and remember it as a very special year. The visit to Canada in July by many of our Russian friends was definitely the highlight of the year. It was great to renew acquaintances, share time together, and see some of the special things and places in Western Canada.

Time just flies by - and when you look back, those were good magic moments. I just wish that the New Year will be as good for all of us and for our dearest… come to think of it, if much of the past is some enchanting place, may be this whole life is one good thing?… or is it just our memory playing its tricks and picking only sweetest stuff ???
