While we were shovelling sticky May snow off our Calgary driveways, some KAO alumni were fanning themselves with palm leaves. Nicole and Denis Gratton and Gord Casperd nailed another “contract of the century” with Vermilion - this time in Trinidad (at this time, Nicole and Denis are back in Canada, and Gord is still doing his time on the islands).

It’s been ten years since Masha and Dave Wormington tied the knot in Usinsk! Once again, they celebrated their special occasion by hosting a mini-reunion of friends last Saturday.
Just like their ten year old marriage, the party was a perfect showcase of cross-cultural success, with back yard barbeque, photo collages, musical greetings from across the ocean, costumes, games, songs, synchronized translation (thanks Yana!), dancing on the patio, and a talking bottle of Russian vodka.
