Tuesday, December 24th, 2002

Dear friends,

We wish you all Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

We believe the coming 2003 year will be prosperous, happy and wonderful for you and your families.

Our life in Usinsk is being busy. May be not that happy as in KomiArcticOil but interesting too.  I saw the pictures from KAO Calgary party and found out that you all look young and happy.

John Vesso is planning on returning to Canada

Saturday, December 7th, 2002

After 6-1/2 years with Gulf Indonesia Resources Ltd. John Vesso has received a severance package from the ConocoPhillips organization. Last year, Conoco purchased Gulf Canada and acquired Gulf Indonesia Resources Ltd. and shortly after that Conoco and Phillips decided to merge.  As a result of this merger and an agressive Nationalization program, John will be stepping down from the position of Senior Gas Operations Superintendent on Dec. 31/02.

John is planning on returning to Canada in the new year after doing some touring of S.E. Asia. He is looking forward to being able to meet with the old KAO gang once again and raising a beer or two and catching up with everyone.

As per original e-mail received from John.

Dennis, I have finally figured out how to get the edited photo to you that I meant to do for the re-union. The solution was right under my nose! All the time!

Yikes, sometime I lose patience with myself.

Anyhow. This is a composite of three photos. Dave and Nona were added in at spearate times. The rest of us were ” shot” at the same time. You will notice that Nona has a heavenly glow around her, not caused by her angelic personality, but by my lousy editing. But it does make her seem special, which she is of course. We missed Don LaPlace and Dennis Sasyniuk. They were either out of country or out at Kumkol. That’s too bad. If you are adding any notes, please refer to them as unavailable but in Kazakhstan. And of course Marlo.

P.S. Please note Nona “photoshoppped” into the frame :-)
